" POTATO LOKSHE WITH CZECH CABBAGE AND BAKED CHICKEN "
This popular meal is a favorite of many families across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Fresh young chicken is baked with root vegetables and apples, plated with a side a sweet cabbage and potato lokše (pancakes). It is difficult to pick which part of this meal is our favorite, since they all go so well together.
The lokše are a classic Slovak favorite that can be served alone as a sweet or savory dish or as a side dish to duck, goose or chicken. The pancakes can also be served with a variety of fillings include: goose liver pate with fried onions; ground duck cracklings; cabbage and smoked meat; chicken liver; lard and garlic; lard; goat cheese and chives; poppy seeds and plum jam; nutella and nuts. But really, you can fill it with anything your imagination can come up with. Try and pick your favorite from this meal, it won't be easy.
